Youth and youthful follies

Remember the words of our beloved His Majesty the king that future of the country rests in the hands of our youth who would become the citizens of tomorrow? Well, one should as it has become nonetheless the most spoken of slogans in school speeches, Dashos’ addressing, principals’ advises, and of course a pet line for a blogger like me to even begin my post on youth and related subjects. And most ironically, we are today in an age where youth problems have not only become a common problem but also has threatened the safety of many other around. It’s no mystery or a joke for that matter if a fully grown up man is scared to walk alone in night around the street corners. Personally my parents would always caution me even when I am late by few hours at home in the evening. And they are not being strict parents but a concerned folks shaken up by the stories of youthful follies, crimes and incidents floating around frequently in papers and of course in talks around the neighborhood.

In a week, there are lots and lots of incidences where out of fight, a young man is stabbed or wounded, and it is just as frequent as any unwelcome guest. The society is threatened of its peace and even worse sometimes when a source that which threatens your neighbor is but your own son. Through my personal experience, I am sometimes haunted by the thoughts of an acquaintance who was stabbed in Lobesa and succumbed to death later on in Punakha hospital. Its unbelievable, my friends that yesterday you were talking, joking and having a fun with a person and today he is killed by certain young guy who was under the influence of drugs and alcohol. And such trend has now picked up at an alarming rate, and it’s something that which should worry everyone before like a cursed plague, it starts contaminating the whole civilization.

It’s becoming a trend as if it’s something that should spread to become a culture. Our lives are threatened not by the bombs of terrorist attacks but definitely much more alarming than it, the acts of our younger generations. The parenting and schooling is now called upon for extra responsibilities and not only them, even ourselves as a part of the society who have in some ways contributed in building such threatening youth nuisance is called upon to start thinking of making younger generations a crop of tomorrow’s citizen as envisioned by the King.
Youths of Bhutan are in stabbing spree, and we are still not wondering about the ones who let the dogs out? If we are threatened to roam around in the city, then its always wiser to groom the ones in our house to a better person so that he doesn’t go before you and you get scared to move around. If charity starts from house, then misfortune also begins from it.

How did Steve job's idea about Death help him?


“Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life.” ...excerpts from Mr. Jobs famous speech at Stanford.
And much true to the above quotes by Steve Jobs, and will be revealed in his upcoming biography which will be going to floor on 24th October, Jobs philosophy kind of made him to achieve so much in his life filled with so much drama of failure and of course success.
Steve Jobs is said to have confided to Apple CEO John Sculley that he expect to die too young. And that he has to do accomplish so many to leave the mark in the history.
It is also said that Steve Jobs delayed to go under the knife for the treatment of cancer. He eventually had a treatment but couldn’t live for long. However, man someone like Steve who fought the failure and had the last laugh with a successful Apple, there is just more to the legacy left behind than to get inspired and actually living your day as the last day before one dies. As in his speech, there is nothing one wouldn’t give up to do the best things one would do to before one dies.
His philosophy about living everyday as the last day, is what I often saw in the books or in article often credited to the quotes of Gandhi.
“Live everyday as if one would die tomorrow and learn as if one would live forever”
And looking at Steve’s accomplishments, his innovations which served as much inspiring and motivating for many, it kind of makes one wonder that there is little doubt that the mantra worked so much wonderfully to him. He had often lauded the philosophy even to an extent of crediting his achievements for understanding and following the principle strictly. I was watching his speech at Stanford and was so much inspired and touched by the words of him living everyday as his last. It is human tendency and the fact that given a limited time, one would always prefer to finish or do the thing that which is most important and importantly it makes one to do it perfectly so that one wouldn’t get a chance to do it again. No wonder, Steve achieved so much that which shall live in the lives of people to remember him and his stories of achievement. It triggers one to the next level of understanding the preciousness of time while one is alive.
Steve Jobs life will be now be on shelf in the form of biographical book by Walter Isaacson who is said to have interviewed Steve Jobs for over 40 interviews over two years before Steve died on October 5. And to add more, Sony is more likely to make the movie out his life. It will be fascinating to watch and actually get more about the man who lived to shrink the computer and eventually make it portable. The Sony studio also made the movie. The Social Network, which was based on Mark Zuckerberg.

Spartacus hero, Andy Whitefield dies

This is for the people who love Spartacus series, Bloods and sands that its leading actor, Andy Whitefield has passed away on Sunday. He has succumbed to a death after fighting a cancer called non-Hodgkin lymphoma for one and half years.
Those who watched Spartacus and loved it would surely have him on the best reason why the series was a hit albeit its explicit sex scenes and sword fighting could have also attracted many people to watch it. He played the lead, Spartacus.
Spartacus, the legendary fighter who spearheaded the revolt against Roman Upper societies for a misdemeanor treatment suffered by slaves at that time is one of the most celebrated figures in the history to writers and historians.
Most of the fans, including myself, I would always remember him for the love and respect that I developed for the gladiators-the warriors who embraced death in service to their masters. And the series kind of made me so engrossed with the whole roman civilization where slaves were worth nothing. The bloods of the slaves and gladiators were shed to appease the love of the upper hand society during that particular era. It continues until, one of the gladiator decides to kill his own master who cheats him by killing his wife, the slavery system badly ruins the lives of lower people. And now, the gladiator seems to leaving us (his fans) with a series half way through.
The welsh actor died on Sunday in Sydney. He will always be remembered as a warrior, gladiator, and very inspiring person.

Cristiano Ronaldo in New Castrol EDGE Documentary

Cristiano Ronaldo  attempts to smash a glass wall with a trademark free-kick in a new Castrol EDGE documentary which will be broadcast next month. 

The Real Madrid attacker has already shot the 60-minute feature in Madrid, where he undertook a series of challenges set by some of the world's leading sports scientists. Castrol EDGE Presents Ronaldo Tested to the Limit is to be broadcast in the UK by Sky Sports and shown around the world over the coming months.

Ronaldo is put through a series of elaborate tests to help understand what gives him the strength to perform at an elite level. His ability to strike the ball hard is examined as he tries to shatter walls of glass with a deadball strike. 

Viewers will also be able to see how the Portuguese player fares against an elite sprinter in a battle of speed and agility. The world's most expensive player is also put to the test in a further challenge as he attempts to outwit laser gun snipers. 

After completing the documentary in Madrid the player said: "Shooting the film has been really exciting as it’s the first time I’ve ever done something like this. The challenges were designed to look at my strength and skill in detail and it’s been a great experience to see how my body works."

Ronaldo added: "The challenges were really tough, but I think I did well on the day.”
The documentary will bring viewers up close and personal with Ronaldo by using ultra slow motion and high impact computer generated imagery. Arsenal manger Arsene Wenger and England boss Fabio Capello have also contributed to the 60-minute feature. 
Castrol EDGE were granted unprecedented access to their global ambassador who shot the film while preparing for the new season with Real Madrid. The documentary, which was developed by M&C Saatchi Sport & Entertainment and filmed by UK production house Plum Pictures, will have a red carpet premiere next month in Spain.

Cristiano aplogises to a fan


Cristiano.....there’s nothing that I don’t like about this player…..and with what happened last Tuesday in the match against Getafe, where Ronaldo while clearing ball away smashed the ball on one of the fans’ nose which left the fan with bleeding nose, the admire for the player as a genuine human being behind that superstar footballer has increased tremendously.
Cristiano, after the match, went inside the stands, and apologised the fan. Latter was also gifted Cristiano’s shirt and took some photographs as well.
